#48| Curiosity Killed The Cat

What’s something you’ve always wished you could do?

Something you’ve always wanted to learn more about?

Since childhood we’ve heard the saying, “Curiosity killed the cat,” but that doesn’t mean we have to live by it.

Instead, I encourage you to pursue knowledge of whatever spurs your curiosity’s delight.

It won’t kill you!

What’s one of your favorite treats? Mine is a Starbucks grande white mocha; extra hot; soy, with whip. I enjoy this treat so often the baristas all recognize my voice and say my order before I can finish!

So, if you have a favorite treat, how often do you treat yourself? How often do you splurge on some tiny indulgence, just for sheer pleasure?

It’s Friday, and for many of us this has been a loooong work week. I encourage you to take some time to treat yourself today, just because.

I want to pause today from featuring our Swirling Singles to give a birthday shout out to one of the most inspirational women I know:

Happy Birthday, Karla!

Have you ever met someone who, when you’re asked to give your thoughts concerning them, one of the most robust descriptions you can give of them is:

Simply Inspirational!

Karla is warm, witty, and funny, and one of the most brilliant you would ever have the pleasure of meeting. She speaks from a place that is rooted in experience, truth and love – and she gives it straight, no chaser.

Karla is fairly active on interracial dating and marriage blogs and the wisdom and down home common sense in her posts will have you nodding your head in assent.

She’s a retired Navy officer who served her country well, and served – and yet does – as a shining role model for other women to follow.

I can’t say enough about her, and I’m honored and proud to call her Friend.

Karla, Happy Birthday. Thank you for being you, and thank you for selflessly serving as a source of inspiration and encouragement to me and countless others.

In what area of your life are you tempted to settle – and in essence, to give up?

Don’t do it!

You deserve the best – and only the best will do.

We often speak of adults as being “fierce,” but what about children?

I believe children manifest the fierceness already inherent in them when we diligently pour positive affirmations and encouragement into their little lives.

Let the children in your life know they are special, unique and one-of-a-kind.

As you raise them, celebrate them.

As you interact with them, encourage them.

So tell me: Is this baby girl fierce, or what?

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. ~Psalm 139:14
