So I’ve been thinking about this NaBloPoMo challenge. As I go through the days of this challenge, I don’t want to just throw something up to say I posted. Rather, I want to stay focused and remember what I believe to be the four points that provide the overarching purpose of blogging.
I purpose to engage in one or more of the following with each post:
- Inform
- Educate
- Inspire
- Entertain
(I also plan to be more timely . . . working on that!)

I like the idea of one writing first for him/herself. Writing does help us “think out loud,” so to speak. Even though we’re writing, we’re speaking. When we share, we speak in our own unique voices, and those who “listen” reap the benefits. Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

I write first for myself. I learn, process, and analyze best by putting the thoughts and emotions on paper.
My next goal is that others will be inspired by my journey. That they will learn from my mistakes, my insights because of my perspective, and they will be encouraged to change their own world.
Enjoyed your post!

As much as I enjoy educating, I’m at the point where I believe inspiring (and entertaining) is better. Writing inspirational posts allow you to share more of yourself, I believe – the good, the bad, and the ugly. I think doing that makes one easier to relate to. After all, who hasn’t had an apple out of the good, bad, or ugly bag??? Entertaining people is good because we can all use a laugh – even if we have to laugh at ourselves. Thanks so much for commenting! I look forward to reading your posts on your blog when you start back on your own site.

I think I write to inspire and educate. When I begin blogging again on my personal site I wand to do more “inspiring” and less “educating”.

I’m still learning the code for this blog, so I have no idea . . . .

Hmmm… that didn’t come out right… it was supposed to be a face with sunglasses…

You’re very welcome! As for the entertainment to go along with the informing and educating, that’s what my book is for, as I recall we’ve already discussed. Besides, we “issue” writers need to support each other in whatever way we can! B|

Your blogs definitely serve the first three purposes! 🙂 Thanks for the comment and feedback.

Those are the same reasons I blog, though the entertainment aspect was the least of those. Good piece; short, sweet and to the point!
