We couldn’t be prouder.

Our 3-year podcast anniversary is coming up in June 2018. In addition to sharing our list of “12 Podcasts You Should Be Listening To,” Adrienne and I have reached some podcast milestones:

The podcast has experienced literal thousands of downloads (well over 135,000 of them on one platform alone!).

And at last count, our show is now heard in 182 countries.

Today, June 9, is our 1-Year Podcast Anniversary – it’s our “Podaversary!”

Woot! Woot!

Here in The Swirl World, we believe we have one of the most amazing “jobs” on the planet.

We have the privilege of curating and sharing photos of interracial couples from around the globe.

They represent ordinary people who enjoy an extraordinary love – active demonstrations of individuals living their lives on their own terms.

Thankfully, you out there in Swirl Nation feel the love, because our Facebook community is now more than 21,500 strong, our monthly blog visitors have quadrupled and our podcast numbers are stellar.

We also enjoy the daily engagement in our private Facebook group, an interactive community composed of quality, carefully vetted interracial couples and singles that, when it comes to drama, are “not about that life!”

Hardly a day goes by without emails from you expressing how much you enjoy seeing the couples, receiving daily inspiration in your inbox and listening to the podcast episodes.

Thank you – we feel the love!

What I Don’t Want You To Tell My Mother

Please don’t tell . . . .

I don’t want you to tell my Mother when I fail.

Here’s the back story:

A couple of days ago I wrote a blog post commemorating my parent’s wedding anniversary. Later that same day my Mother overheard me asking my Aunt Marie about the exact date she and my Uncle Bully got married. Of course my Mother wanted to know why I was asking about Aunt Marie’s wedding date. I jokingly told her that I had written something about “my parents.”

My Mother (laughing): “Don’t you start that!

Me (laughing):  “Don’t start what?” You know my brother and me write about y’all!”

Aunt Marie: “I know! That’s what I keep hearing! They keep telling me that y’all are writing about us!” (I’m not sure who “they”  are)

My Mother (still laughing): “All right now! You and your brother better stop it!”

I laughed my Mother off, but knowing my Mother the way I do, I knew I hadn’t heard the end of the matter. Sure enough, the next day I found this note taped to my bathroom mirror:

Technically, I’m off the hook because this blog is not Facebook or texting (I find the part about texting hilarious). Nevertheless, the word “etc.” is part of the note,  so  I guess I’m going to have to try to respect my Mother’s wishes and not write about her any more. 

I said I’m going to try.

Please don’t tell her when I fail.
